Mayer’s Lake Ontario Winery

Located near the Niagara Escarpment, our winery honors the excellent soil and beauty of upstate New York. The area encompasses a rich mosaic of forests, farms, recreation areas, scenic views, streams, wetlands, rolling hills, mineral resources, wildlife habitats, historic sites, villages, towns and cities.

Amidst our 90-acre estate, enjoy a blend of award winning wines in our cozy bistro. We began planting our estate in 2002 with the winery opening two years later. Featuring over 50 different styles of wine including Lake Ridge Reserve, Lake Ontario, and our famous Pirates Lagoon. Stop by for a wine tasting, sample our “1835 hard cider,” and other local craft beverages. Enjoy lunch or dinner in our bistro, or take a wine or cheese making class. Our many festivals relate to the harvest of the season, so always check our website for details. There’s always something to enjoy at Lake Ontario Winery and Vineyards, come spend your day with us!

Family owned, and family run! The history of our business began as a unique apple cider and winemaking emporium in 1961. David N. Bower, Jr. is the owner and winemaker, David N. Bower, III the consulting winemaker and viticulturist, Lorraine Schiffhauer the event manager, and Emily E. Bower, is the social media intern.
